Gamification is still one of the strongest levers in mobile apps. Snapchat proved it with streaks. Duolingo with daily lessons. It works because people want to see progress.
Three badges. Bronze, silver, gold. This is how I get users to come back every day. 🏆
In Sweeties you can collect badges as achievements. Through streaks.
A streak means: You and your partner send each other a message every single day. Without skipping a day.
10 days in a row = Bronze Badge
100 days in a row = Silver Badge
365 days in a row = Gold Badge
The best part: Users see from the very beginning on their profile page that these badges exist. They see what they need to do to earn them. The goal is visible before they've even started.
Why gamification? Because sending messages shouldn't feel like work. It should feel like a game. Something you enjoy doing. Something where you're excited to reach the next level.

This is my approach to building this principle into Sweeties. Not as pressure, but as a reward.
